Oh twenties you have been fun… and I’m glad we still have another year together! Am I freaking out? Nope. I honestly believe women get BETTER with age as we learn to understand and love ourselves more. Confidence + wisdom = beauty!
I turn 29 this week so this blog is a little tribute to my twenties and the lessons I’ve learnt so far about health, happiness, relationships and career.
I reckon the best part about the late twenties is that you’ve tried being everything else, so being yourself is finally the most comfy, appealing and perfect option.
Life is too short to cut out dark chocolate and wine. A little bit is good for you.
Don’t take it personally. Especially at work.
On everything: sure gather information then just trust your intuition.
In relationships, believe actions, not words.
Real friends are the ones that want the best for you. How do you know? If you’re honest with yourself, you just know.
Meditation makes you better at life. Full stop.
There’s no need for ‘polls’ for every decision. Look within for the answer.
Make him wait. Trust that he will. If he doesn’t he’s not worth it.
Don’t seek others approval (a work in progress).
Seriously, just listen to your body about what it needs and doesn’t need!
Prioritise time to take care of you. Run a bath, do yoga. It’s not a waste of time.
You actually don’t need a new outfit for EVERYTHING. (Except you do need a new birthday dress!)
Punishing yourself with exercise you don’t enjoy will just make you miserable. Do what you love, not what burns the most calories.
Be in THIS moment. Thanks Eckhart Tolle.
In your career, the path might not be clear, just follow the twists and turns and don’t resist.
Sometimes just be the one to kiss and makeup.
If in doubt: WWBD (what would Beyonce do!)
Never be afraid to ask for help. From friends, family, partner or a professional. This shows strength.
Just walk away. Breathe, then work out how you feel about the situation.
Please… don’t compare. It’s useless.
Cooking is fun!
Cooking for someone else is deeply satisfying.
Yep, the truth will actually set you free. Letting that guard down and being honest with friends and loved ones will give them permission to do the same.
If you neglect your spirituality, it will neglect you.
Take risks sometimes.
Always: this too shall pass.
When you feel anxious about the future, don’t believe the ‘story’ your mind is spinning.
Don’t settle, wipe away those tears smudging your mascara and next! The prince is worth it.
